To The Finish Line: Track Season in Review

The high school indoor track team has been dominating the competition this season, with standout performances from both the boys' and girls' teams that are making waves across Mercer County, New Jersey, and even the United States. With impressive rankings, personal bests, and team achievements, these student-athletes are setting a high bar for excellence. Here are some highlights from the season so far:
Tristan Jusino Lansing has been nothing short of extraordinary in the 55-meter hurdles. With a time of 7.74 seconds, he is ranked #1 in Mercer County, #14 in New Jersey, and #77 in the United States. His speed and precision in the hurdles have made him a top contender this season.
Matin Mahmoud is another key performer, ranking #2 in New Jersey and #23 in the nation in the triple jump with an impressive mark of 45'10.5". His incredible athleticism continues to set him apart from his competitors.
Alexander Nikolov has also been a standout, ranking tied for #7 in Mercer County and #4 among sophomores in New Jersey in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.25 seconds. Additionally, Nikolov is ranked #10 in the county for long jump (18'5.75") and #7 in triple jump (37'8").
Roman Robert’s made his mark on January 11th with a high jump of 5'3", placing him at #15 in the county.
In the shot put, Isaiah Spencer ranks #3 in the county and #57 in New Jersey with a throw of 47'3", while Ryan Rodriguez is #6 in the county and #77 in the state with a mark of 45'6".
The boys' 4x200 relay team, made up of Matin Mahmoud, Tristan Jusino Lansing, Jaquan Coleman, and Isaac Pitts Parker, is also in great form. Their time of 1:35.18 ranks them #2 in the county.
Samya Jenkins has been lighting up the track, running the 55-meter dash in 7.52 seconds. She ranks #60 in New Jersey, #15 among sophomores, and #5 in Mercer County. Her explosive speed has made her a key figure in the girls' sprinting events.
Alicia Rigginz has been impressive in the 55-meter hurdles, clocking in at 9.15 seconds. She is ranked #6 in the county and #83 in New Jersey.
Gabriele Pociute is also making waves in the triple jump with a mark of 29'7.25", ranking #21 among sophomores in NJ. Her consistency in the event is a testament to her hard work and dedication.
Sophie Trzaskus continues to excel in pole vault, with a jump of 9'0" that places her #2 in the county and tied for #34 in New Jersey.
The girls' shuttle hurdle relay team, made up of Tanaya Lassiter, Alicia Rigginz, Soraya Parks, and Hope Blanton, has been performing exceptionally well. Their time of 37.64 seconds ranks them #7 in New Jersey.
With these outstanding performances, the high school indoor track team is proving to be a powerhouse in the state and beyond. As the season progresses, these athletes will be pushing themselves to new heights, aiming for even greater achievements.
