The Red and White Club Fair, for those who don’t know, is a gathering hosted by Red and White for all grades to explore the variety of clubs and afterschool programs offered here at Lawrence High School. This year’s club fair was organized by Red-and-White advisor and science teacher, Mr. Kamp, who did a great job organizing all of the clubs and their representatives. Though the Club Fair occurs every year, I decided to interview freshman participants in order to give you a fresh perspective on how important this event is. The freshman had lots to say, so I divided their input into a couple of different sections below for your convenience. Firstly, many freshmen liked the variety of clubs, for example the Lawrencian Newspaper, Green Action Team, Bring Change to Mind, and more! By having clubs that coincide with many student interests and hobbies, his gave the freshmen many options that they could pick to get involved with. A couple students wondered if there would be opportunities for an indoor club fair option or to host a mid-year Club Fair in the winter time so that students could revisit organizations that they were unsure of in the beginning of the school year. The Club Fair also, according to freshmen, gave a “recess vibe,” allowing students across the school to meet and socialize with each other over common interests, which most enjoyed very much!

The Red and White Club Fair has received lots of positive feedback from this year’s freshmen. It has opened up many opportunities for students to get involved and to lead a fun high school experience!
