Pitch Perfect: Cardinals Bring the Heat to the Mound

The Lawrence Softball squad has begun their season with numerous solid victories. The varsity team has achieved a 7–10 overall record and a 4–1 standing in the Colonial Valley Conference – Valley Division.
Senior standout Emma Dobkin led the offense with a remarkable .614 batting average, contributing 27 hits and 18 RBIs, including eight doubles and two triples . Freshman Zoey Hartman made an immediate impact, batting .408 with 20 hits and 15 RBIs, while junior Hope Lestician added consistency to the lineup with a .390 average and 23 hits. On the mound, sophomore Bailey Schafer provided stability, recording a .295 batting average and driving in nine runs. The team has won an incredible 7-0 victory over Westampton Tech, an 11-1 victory over Peddie, and a dominant 14-0 win at Hopewell Valley. The Cardinals have battled hard through some difficult games, but they have shown their resilience in close ones against Ewing and Princeton.
Throughout the season to come, the team will keep striving to continue their success and achieving even higher numbers of wins.
