This month's new teacher spotlight features the second addition to the LHS English Department: Mr. Chinosi! This year, Mr. Chinosi is teaching English II sophomores and English III juniors. I interviewed him with questions for the LHS community to get to know him and these were his answers.

When I was asked why he wanted to become an English teacher, Mr. Chinosi said that he was inspired by his previous English teachers by feeling that they were more than just educators, but reliable people to form connections and friendships with. With the combination of his love of reading, writing and with inspiration from his past teachers, he went to college wanting to share what he felt from his teachers to his current students. This is also his first year professionally teaching as he spent last year as a student teacher at Maple Shade High School.
When I asked him how his first weeks at LHS have been so far, he said that it has been really good. Students and staff have all been very welcoming and supportive, and even though it has been a huge adjustment, the LHS environment is nice to be in, with everyone being incredibly sweet.
Something surprising about Mr. Chinosi is that he grew up on a horse farm in Central Jersey until he moved when he was 16! His hobbies include playing soccer and he has fun being a part of a co-ed soccer league. He plays guitar, loves to sing, and plays the card game ‘Magic the Gathering' (if any students are interested in starting a club for that, let him know)! His favorite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, his favorite TV shows are Bob’s Burgers, We Bear Bears, and The Amazing World of Gumball, and his favorite movie is Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Lastly, the advice Mr. Chinosi would give to his students and to the LHS student body is to “always extend a hand even if you don't want to, help someone who seems to need help even without asking, and always be kind and check in on each other, even those you don't know”.
Welcome to LHS, Mr. Chinosi! We hope you love teaching here!
