The Lawrencian has a NEW feature: there is now an advice column in the works! Students will soon be able to interact with the newspaper like never before. Here are answers to some questions you may have!

Q: What’s an advice column, and how will the Lawrencian’s advice column work?

A: An advice column is a section of a newspaper that dedicates itself to answering questions its readers may have. The Lawrencian’s advice column will have plenty of student questions and responses, fulfilling your need for advice, reassurance on something, or just fun entertainment!

Q: What types of questions can I submit to the Lawrencian advice column?

A: The Lawrencian Advice Column is a light-hearted advice column and NOT a venting space for students. Students concerned with issues surrounding mental health, physical health, unsafe situations, or any other similar matter should immediately contact their guidance counselor or a trusted adult to seek professional help.

Q: How can I submit an advice letter, and does my letter have to be published in the newspaper?

A: You will fill out a Google Form (soon to be published at lawrencian.org). Yes, your letter must be published in the newspaper, but we will not include your name or any revealing information. The Google Form is monitored by the Lawrencian Advisor and Admin for safety.

Q: Well, who’s the writer?

A: Currently, the writer has chosen to stay anonymous. However, they certainly will put in lots of effort to give great responses to students’ advice letters!

Don’t be afraid to submit an advice letter! The advice column is accepting letters from all students. The exact date of debut for this new feature is coming soon so stay tuned!
