This season, the boys cross country team has demonstrated endurance to strengthen their skills and their caliber to compete. Whether the boys joined to try something new or continue their cross country journey, all of them have dedicated themselves to this sport. They have kept themselves strong, refused to give up, and ultimately crossed the finish line. Logan Rappaport (10th), Noah Stapleton (9th), and Jared Griggs (12th) have been kind enough to share their highs and lows during this fall cross country season. Their respective journeys showcase what cross country is truly about, demonstrating how far the cross country team has come and how much further they are able to go.

First a shoutout to Mr. Krajunus!

The boys cross country team built up to success this season under the leadership of Coach Krajunus, whose guidance emphasized discipline, consistency, and teamwork. Throughout the season, Coach Krajunus worked closely with the athletes to improve their training, race strategies, and overall confidence. As the season progressed, we also celebrated an exciting personal milestone for Coach Krajunus who began paternity leave. Before going to be with his family, he left a strong foundation that played a key role in the team’s accomplishments.

As the boys' skills grew, so did their bonds with each other. As Jared Griggs, a senior on the team says, “This was the closest I have ever seen a cross country team be. We want to run together, we have plenty of pasta parties, we are really close with the girls team, and everybody knows everybody”. By running together, the boys cross country team has only become more supportive of each other and are sure to work as a team in and out of cross country.

Many on the boys cross country team have demonstrated the attitude it takes to show up for others on the team and run cross country to the best of their abilities, including Alden Smith (12th), a seasoned runner who leads with experience, encouragement, and kindness; Connor Donnelly (9th), who brightens the team with his attitude towards running; Wade Bullard (10th), a determined member of the team who also brings the right attitude towards running; Logan Rappaport (10th), who showed great improvement; and Jared Griggs (12th), being there on the team even with an injured knee while bringing a great mentality to practices and races. Even as the cross country season has come to a close, the team will still stick together through thick and thin, giving all of us hope that next year will be their best season yet.

Next year, it is clear that with their strong foundation, the boys cross country team will only grow stronger and closer.
